During
the second trimester of Reader’s Workshop we
focused our attention on Historical Book Clubs. Each
student was assigned a book club based on interest and
reading level. During Reader’s Workshop we practiced
various comprehension reading strategies including
synthesizing, determining importance, determining theme,
asking and answering questions, and using evidience from
the text to support our thinking. The students did an
excellent job discussing and analyzing the text!
At an end of the trimester the students created
book trailers about their books using a free site called
animoto. The students did an incredible job creating these
trailers. I know that you are going to LOVE them!!! Also if
you are inspired after watching our spectacular creations
and want to make your own trailer here is the link
