Dear Parents,
Welcome to a brand new school year! Throughout the year we will be doing a number of “team building” activities because this year, we (students, parents, and teacher) are a team! I realize everyone’s schedules are busy and different. However, I am confident we can all work together with the best interest of your child in mind. I am truly thrilled about working with all of you this year!
Below is some information about what to expect this year:

Below is some information about what to expect this year:
- Water Bottles – Students may bring water in a water bottle with them to class each day.
- Snacks -- Students will have a snack break each morning. Students may bring in their own healthy snack such as fruit, vegetables, crackers, or pretzels each day.
- Lunch Money – Lunch money will be collected every Monday.
- Lunch- The students will eat lunch from 12:30 – 12:50. Then they will have recess from 12:50 – 1:10.
- Homework Planners– Starting the second week of school students will be bringing home a homework planner along with a homework folder. Please review what your child has for homework each night.
- Reading - It is very important to promote reading at home. Students will be asked to read each night for at least 20 to 30 minutes.
- Missing Assignments and Weekly Reports – Students will be bringing home a newsletter that explains what has been happening in the classroom along with the corrected papers for the week every Friday. The weekly report will also talk about the child’s behavior and list any scores that he or she has earned on tests, quizzes, or projects given that week. I will also indicate on the weekly report if your child has any missing assignments. Students will have until the following Monday to complete and turn in the work. If the missing homework is not turned in on Monday, it will be an E.
